Grant County Full-Time Deputy Sheriff

Grant County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, located in Elbow Lake is currently accepting applications for the positions of a Full-Time Deputy Sheriff. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement degree, and must be eligible to be POST licensed. The position, under the direction of the County Sheriff and supervision of the Chief Deputy, is responsible for patrolling assigned portions of the County; enforcing laws and regulations and issuing traffic citations; serving civil process papers; responding to civil or criminal complaints, disturbances or emergency assistance; assisting in the conduct of various criminal and civil investigations. Pursues and executes arrest warrants including probation violators and other persons wanted by court. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws, rules, statutes and regulations is essential. The Deputy Sheriff must have excellent communication skills in dealing with the general public, community groups, business representatives, other county employee or representative from other law enforcement agencies.


The Deputy Sheriff will be expected to work day, p.m., and night shifts, during weekdays, weekends and holidays.  Beginning pay is $20.05 per hour. Health insurance and pension benefits are also provided.
