Any flooding that occurs, should be reported to the Grant County Sheriff Office at 218-685-8260.

An updated County map will be shared on the Grant County website home page, as well as the Grant County Facebook page.

Grant County has been in communication with community partners, to include Watershed Districts.

Grant County wants to remind everyone to consider what mitigation steps you can take now, before any potential flooding happens.

Grant County will be supporting a Fill Station for sand bags at the MNDOT Salt Shed in Barrett, MN.

The fill station will be open and operational starting 1:00 PM Wednesday March 20th, 2019.

Only materials will be provided – sand and sand bags.

There are plastic ties on the sand bag, however feel free to bring your own zip-ties for closure of the bags if you would like.

The sand bags will be in a container by the fill station.

Anyone choosing to use the fill station for flood mitigation will be responsible for the following:

  1. Filling the sand bags - bring your own shovel, none will be provided.
  2. Disposal of sand after the flooding is gone.
  3. Returning the used sand bags to the Grant County Highway Department in Elbow Lake to be recycled.

If more sand bags are needed at the fill station, please contact the Grant County Highway Department at 218-685-8300.
